What about natural treatment for rosacea?

Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels on the face. It can also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. These may flare up for weeks to months and then go away for a while. Natural treatments using essential oils offer a great way to keep rosacea under control.

For rosacea we recommend using Sustain (oil cleansing protection) which contains argan oil to assist with inflammation and oxidative damage. It can reduce the appearance of rosacea symptoms, as well as calm the skin and reduce redness. Omega fatty acids comprise the majority of argan oil. It is rich in omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, possessing very strong anti-inflammatory and moisturising qualities – both of which are critical for managing rosacea. Linoleic acid, also a type of omega-6 fatty acid, also helps to control inflammation.

Sustain also contains rosehip oil, which is widely used for overall skin care and for a number of skin conditions. This oil has been used to fight ageing of the skin, stretch marks, sun damage, scars, psoriasis, burns, dermatitis, eczema and other skin conditions. Rosehip oil includes vitamin A, vitamin E and essential fatty acids, all of which are all beneficial for the skin, encouraging the skin to become firmer and regenerate cells. Due to this, rosehip oil can assist with rosacea.

Facial oils can supplement the natural oils that your skin is producing or lacking, to balance and nourish the skin, as well as repair the barrier that keeps the moisture locked in.

Different types of facial oils, such as jojoba, argan, tea tree, etc. naturally have anti-inflammatory or antioxidant properties for additional benefits. While these may be bonus benefits the biggest benefit that comes with an oil is the moisture that it provides for skin.

It’s essential that you find the right products for your skin, especially if you have oily and blemish prone skin. If your skin is naturally oily then your skin produces too much oil (sebum), whereas people with dry skin do not naturally produce enough oil to maintain a protective seal on the surface to lock in moisture and keep hydration in.
